01The problem

Every bid used to start from scratch

A leading UK construction company’s admin team was spending days polishing local authority bid questionnaires, and the results never quite sounded like one company. Each writer had their own style, feedback from past submissions was scattered across folders, and the company’s values came through in some answers and not others.

Bids took weeks to put together, each one started from nothing, and there was no reliable way to carry the lessons from one submission into the next.

02What we built

An assistant that drafts from their own past bids

We built an AI assistant that drafts from the company’s own material: past submissions, the feedback they received, and the policies every answer has to reflect. It does not write the bid for them. It produces a first draft in their voice, flags wording that does not match how the company talks about itself, points to the answers that worked before, and highlights the gaps while there is still time to fill them.

03The results

First drafts in minutes, in one voice

First drafts now take minutes rather than hours, and every submission reads as the same company whoever wrote it. Each suggestion is linked back to the source it came from, so a writer can see why a piece of wording is being challenged and decide for themselves.

Bid writing time fell by 90%. The knowledge in past submissions now reaches the next bid instead of sitting in a folder, and the team can respond to more opportunities without adding people. More on AI for construction companies.
